Biographical / Historical:

The Buffalo Area Metropolitan Ministries was started in 1976 as a not for profit corporation of religious communities in Western New York that included Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Later on they welcomed additional denominations.

This organization was designed to bring churches of all denominations and the secular community in the County of Erie together in the promulgation and promotion of ideas to resolve and find solutions for the moral issues which confront the members of the community.

It was designed as a complex organization which existed for the purpose of modeling and promoting inter religious dialogue and cooperative activities among organizations of the many religious communities within the eight county area of Western New York State.

The organization merged with The Buffalo Area of Churches in 1998 to form The Network of Religious Communities.
