Prentiss B. Gilbert was born in Rochester, New York on October 3 1883, and died in Berlin, Germany on February 24, 1939 while serving as chargé d'affaires at the U. S. Embassy in Berlin. He was a graduate of the University of Rochester, Class of 1906.
