ADAM, an acronym for Art, Drama, Architecture, and Music, was an international English-French literary magazine founded in 1941. The magazine's founder, Miron Grindea, also a literary journalist, served as its editor. Until 1968, ADAM International Review was edited and published in London, England, independent of institutional backing. In fall of 1968, ADAM became affiliated with the University of Rochester. The university published the magazine between September 1968 and September 1, 1971.

During the period that the magazine was affiliated with the University, Grindea continued as editor in collaboration with three associate editors. Two of these editors were professors at the University of Rochester: Bernard Schilling, the Trevor Professor of English and Comparative Literature and chairperson of the Department of Foreign and Comparative Literature, and Anthony Hecht, the John H. Deane Professor of Poetry and Rhetoric and 1968 Pulitzer Prize-winner for poetry. The third associate editor, Jules Brody, had recently left the University, where he had been a professor in the Department of Foreign and Comparative Literature and director of French Studies, for a position at Queens College. In partnership with these three, Grindea edited and oversaw the printing of the magazine from his London office then shipped copies to the University. These copies were then distributed by the DeBoer company and sold locally through the University bookstore. The University assumed financial responsibility for the magazine, and this management was handled through the Office of the Vice President for Special Academic Activities, where Marguerite M. Barrett played a key role as the office's administrative assistant. McCrea Hazlett, the vice president overseeing this office, was involved with the magazine and continued to be after he was appointed vice president for public affairs. While expenses related to the production of the magazine were covered by the University, income generated was divided between the two parties under the terms of their contract.

ADAM's three-year contract with the University was not renewed in 1971 due to financial difficulties and geographic barriers. The magazine continued to be published after the affiliation with the University ended, until 1988.

The magazine featured critical essays on modern fiction, drama, poetry, and art. Original works of literature and art, some of which were previously unpublished, were also included.
