- Scope and Content:
The Thomas Steininger collection contains Bulletins of Studies from St. Ann’s Hermitage, holy pictures and mementos of the Marist Brothers, post cards, playbills and programs from St. Ann’s Hermitage, prayer books, retreat notes and various other mementos from Thomas Steininger’s years with the Marist Brothers.
- Biographical / Historical:
The late Brother Thomas Steininger studied with the Marist Brothers starting in 1937, and continued for about eight years. He attended the retreat of 1940, where he took extensive notes. Thomas Steininger also participated in programs at St. Ann’s Hermitage, such as the “Musicale” in honor of Saint Cecilia, where he played the piano in the orchestral accompaniment.

- The collection was donated to Marist College from Jo Steininger, widow of the late Thomas Steininger.
