Charles F. Burt was a Cornell University graduate (1875) from Albion, New York, who relocated to DeWitt, Michigan, to teach primary and secondary school He would later return to New York, where he eventually became the Town Supervisor of Kendall. C. Willard Burt was the son of Charles, who served in France during the First World War.
