Biographical / Historical:

Thomas F. Powell, former Dean of Arts and Sciences at the State University of New York at Oswego, donated this collection of middle and late 19th century material to preserve its contents. Dr. Powell is a distinguished author in the field of American history having written dozens of articles and books upon the subject. His most recognized works are “Josiah Royce”, “Humanities and the Social Studies” and “Penet’s Square”.
