Included in the collection are the letters of Clara Bowker dating from 1897 to 1898.

- Biographical / Historical:
George Willard Bowker was born in 1837 and enlisted in the 89th Infantry Regiment, New York Volunteers, sometimes referred to as the “Dickinson Guard”. He was known to have served between 1862-1863.
