Scope and Content:

The Russell Sage Foundation records consist of correspondence, office files, reports, grant proposals, publications, photographs, and some digital media materials documenting the Foundation's activities during the years 1879-2002, with the bulk of the material from 1907-2000.

Arrangement:

This Russell Sage Foundation records are arranged into 3 sub-groups, each with mulitple series thereunder: 1. RSF records, 1885-1983, 2. RSF records, 1974-2002.

A subgroup at the end of the collection is designated for photographs.

RESTRICTIONS:

Open for research with select materials restricted are noted. Brittle or damaged items are available at the discretion of RAC. Researchers interested in accessing digital media (floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, etc.) or audiovisual material (audio cassettes, VHS, etc.) in this collection must use an access surrogate. The original items may not be accessed because of preservation concerns. To request an access surrogate be made, or if you are unsure if there is an access surrogate, please contact an archivist.

The Rockefeller Archive Center has title, copyright, and literary rights in the collection, in so far as it holds them, and has authority to grant permission to cite and publish archival material from the collection.
