Scope and Content:

This collection consists of twelve academic working papers; printed, numbered and identified by annual or semester series, sponsored by the Janey Program. Authors include, Diane Davis, Marcos Melo, Fred Murphy, and Carmen Martinez. In English, except one paper in Spanish.

Biographical / Historical:

The Janey Program in Latin American Studies was established during the 1991-1992 academic year, funded by philanthropists Daniel and Susan Rothenberg. The Program supported fellowships for students from Latin America and the Caribbean pursuing graduate studies at The New School; summer fellowships for fieldwork and research in Latin America and the Caribbean; an annual conference; and lectures and occasional visits to The New School by scholars from Latin America.
