A small but interesting collection of family documents that relate to the history of slavery and Columbia.

Biographical / Historical:

The Van Wagenen family is one of the oldest and most significant of early Dutch families who settled in the Hudson Valley of NY State, having left the Netherlands about 1637 and having inhabited Kingston on the shores of the Hudson River sometime around 1650.
