Judith Anne Baker Cardoni was born on November 18, 1943, in Binghamton, New York. Judith attended Afton Central School during her elementary and high school years and was valedictorian of her high school class in 1961. Judith attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, where she matriculated in a self-designed curriculum that would meet entrance requirements for admission to the University at Buffalo's School of Pharmacy. In May 1963, Judith moved to Buffalo, New York, to take a summer course in pharmaceutical analysis to meet requirements for admission to the School of Pharmacy. She was accepted to the program and upon graduation in 1966, she became a licensed pharmacist in New York, first employed as a hospital pharmacist at Sisters Hospital of Buffalo, NY. In June 1967, Judith with her husband Alex, moved briefly to Columbus, Ohio where she worked in hospital and community pharmacy. In 1972, the couple relocated to Ellington, Connecticut, where Judith practiced community pharmacy, joined as a part-time adjunct faculty member at the University of Connecticut's School of Pharmacy, worked in third-party insurance. In 2002, Judith received the Bowl of Hygeia Award as the Outstanding Pharmacist of Connecticut. She retired in 2010 after 45 years of dedicated service. Judith Baker Cardoni passed in 2018.
