Scope and Content:

Collection includes magazine, newspaper clippings, newsletters, postcards, stickers, programs, posters, leaflets, and booklets relating to counterculture and protests with in Buffalo, including at the University at Buffalo. Organizations include Young Socialist Alliance, Palestine Liberation Movement, Niagara Liberation Front, Young Rebels Revolutionary Collective and Students for Democratic Society. Protest subjects include Angela Davis, Martin Sostre, Bobby Seale, Fred Hampton, Huey Newton, Vietnam War, Hunger and Civil Rights.

Biographical / Historical:

Carl Jowdy was active in the Black Panthers and other radical groups in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.
