Background

Scope and Content:

This collection holds materials related to events hosted by the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) in tandem with various student groups at the University at Albany. The majority pertains to the Safe Space Training sessions that were hosted by the GSRC and open to student and faculty and staff. These include programs, advertisements, workbooks, and other ephemera from these events. Programs and pamphlets from other Safe Space training sessions at Mohawk Valley Community College and Hudson Valley Community College are included as they molded their programs after University at Albany's. This collection also includes programs for a Camp Pride a week long summer camp devoted to helping young LGBTQ students learn about their sexuality. The last part of this collection is three banners created by the GSRC as advertisements for their campus-wide events such as Second Chance Prom.

Biographical / Historical:

The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) is a group based in the campus center. There is a director of the center who is aided by departamental liasons across the Uptown and Downtown Campuses. These people are faculty and staff who are available to assist LGBTQ students with any campus related problems.
