Anah Babcock Yates was a historian and genealogist, one of the first people to research the history of Rochester, New York through archival sources. Her papers include genealogical research, correspondence, clippings, photographs, legal documents, a hair album, information on early (white) Rochesterians, documents on Ebenezer Allen, early probate records, and genealogy information. The papers date from 1839 into the 1930s.

Wyman, John E., collector.
The John E. Wyman Collection consists primarily of material relating to the early history of New York and some material relating to Connecticut. The collection includes a variety of manuscripts (1695-1917; bulk 1750-1840) collected and organized by John E. Wyman of Fonda, N.Y. The New York State Historical Association purchased the collection from the Wyman family in 1950. With the manuscripts, NYSHA acquired a calendar, probably compiled by John Wyman, which includes transcriptions and/or descriptions of more than 1,000 of the 1,100 plus documents originally in the collection.

Alexander McMillan Welch (1869-1943) was a New York City based architect who practiced independently and as a member of Welch, Smith & Provot. His firm was best known for designing New York City townhouses in the Beaux-Arts style. The collection includes 1,641 architectural drawings, 196 student drawings, 14 student notebooks, 99 loose photographs and 3 photo albums of project photography, project specifications and files, and some professional ephemera.

Weitz was a visiting lecturer at Parsons School of Design from 1975 to 1995.
